Details product
Inspired by the vibrant spirit and iconic style of Frida Kahlo, this handmade textile doll is thoughtfully created by Folk Project using treasured fabric remnants from chairs we have made. Sourced from Mexico and Guatemala, the textiles include pieces of traditional huipiles, cortes, and other beautifully woven fabrics. The body is crafted from soft cotton manta, while the face is carefully hand-painted, giving each doll its own expressive character.
Each doll is one of a kind, with a unique combination of colors, patterns, and textures. These expressive handmade dolls celebrate the artistry, color, and cultural traditions woven into the textiles from which they are created. By transforming remnants from our furniture into something new, Folk Project gives these beautiful materials a renewed purpose.
Full of character and playful charm, each doll is a small piece of folk art made to bring color and personality to your home. Variations in color, pattern, and detail are to be expected.
